About WEICH

WEICH is a series of events focused on ambient and experimental music, crossing disciplinary arts and community.

The definition of the German word “WEICH “means soft, smooth, tender. The name describes the ambiance of the experience pretty accurately.

Their events are intentionally creating a culture of cuddles, slow movement, practicing to be present with all the senses, and honor to let people come into their presence.

Our contribution

Kim was invited since 2021 to join the sonic, ambient music experiences, curated by Elisa Cucinelli around different venues in Berlin.

Her mode of work is through scent layering, which evokes a journey through scent taking turns.

By using props and tools like fans, scent towels, aroma diffuser as well as scent-filled shells, she was able to guide the audience to travel through their own inner unique experience with their senses.

The experience

Scent performances bring creative individuals particularly at these artistic events collectively together.

Through the smelling experience an interesting exchange and conversation between the audience takes place. Connecting through verbal and eye gazing communication a space of comfort is being created completely on its own.

By passing around the unknown transparent liquid in a sacred container everyone in the room is being able to explore and evaluate the scent individually as well as in a collective sense.

Experimental music and the interactive play with scent creates an elegant symbiosis between the creative collective brainwaves to initiate new hidden potentials within ourselves and with others.
